GulQay Snow Chrysanthemum

GulQay means ‘floral tea’ in the Uyghur language.

Our snow chrysanthemum is from Kunlun Mountains area of Xinjiang; where is well known as the birthplace of the Kunlun snow chrysanthemum, and continually produces the best snow chrysanthemums. The snow chrysanthemums are grown above 2,000 meters upon Kunlun Mountains, irrigated by clean snow water, hand-picked and air-dried when ripe.

  • 2–5 times more flavonoid than ordinary chrysanthemum that helps to strengthen immune system, and improve symptoms of hypertension, hyperglycemia, high cholesterol
  • Volatile oil: 9.85%, more favorable than chamomile or fetal chrysanthemum in anti-oxidation function
  • Rich in Chlorogenic acid that helps in detoxification. Some COVID 19 patients feedback that snow chrysanthemum is very effective in soothing sever soar throat
  • Clear heat and eliminate stagnation, good companion for BBQ and hot pot .
  • Soothing and improving insomnia

Advantages

  • The tea contains no artificial colouring, caffeine or any additives.

Brewing Method

Add 8 - 10 pieces of snow chrysanthemum to 200 cc (1 cup) of water. First rinse the snow chrysanthemums with room temperature water. To brew, fill with water at a temperature between 98°C and soak for 1 - 2 minutes before drinking. It can be steeped for 3 - 4 additional cups.

*Caution: This drink is not suitable for expectant mothers or people with hypotension.

Other Suggested Uses

Homemade Snow Chrysanthemum Jelly (5 servings)

Enjoy Fresh & Healthy Jelly

Ingredient:Water 500g, sugar 46g, snow chrysanthemum 5g, and gelatin sheet 10g

1. Soften the gelatin sheet in ice water and dry it

2. Heat the water and add snow chrysanthemum for 20 minutes

3. Use sieve to remove the snow chrysanthemum after the dip

4. Add sugar to the chrysanthemum water and reheat it; then dissolve the gelatin sheet in the water

5. Pour the solution into a semi-circular mold and snow it for 3 to 4 hours until complete solidification

6. Dip the bottom of the mold with hot water for demolding, and enjoy afterward

 

Snow Chrysanthemum Cake (size: 6 inches)

Ingredient:egg white 4 nos., sugar 40 g, salt (1 pinch), egg yolk 4 nos, sugar 20 g, vegetable oil 42 g, milk 60 g, snow chrysanthemum 2-3 g, flour 70 g

1. Heat the milk, mix with snow chrysanthemum, bake in oven for 10 minutes then separate slag for juice

2. Beat 20g egg yolk with sugar, add vegetable oil and mix well; add the chrysanthemum infusion in Step 2, mix well; then add 70g flour and mix well

3. Beat the egg white to foam, add 20g sugar to the wet foam, add the remaining 20g sugar to dry foaming

4. Add 1/3 egg white to egg yolk batter, gently mix well; then add the remaining white, mix until evenly blended

5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees for 30 minutes

6. Pour the batter into the cake mold and bake for 30 minutes until cooked

Take out from the oven, flip the cake over to prevent it from shrinking
